Scones and Cameron Highlands somehow go hand in hand and if one is looking for the best scone in town, The Lord’s Cafe in Tanah Rata certainly is a great place to be spoiled for choices.
Famous Scone Cameron Highland
Tucked away in the row of shops situated at Main Road in Tanah Rata, we stumbled upon The Lord’s Cafe after a quick browse on where to go for the best scone in Cameron Highland. The eatery is charming with a homely outlook paired with yesteryears decoration and open windows that invites natural light to peek in, also gives one a sense of nostalgic charm.
Located right above Marry Brown restaurant on the main road, The Lord’s Cafe flashes a billboard of menu on the wall as one ascends on a humble staircase, leading up into a rustic sanctuary to dine.
From scone, crepe, cheesecake, sandwich to omelet and ice cream, this cafe also features the locally produced black tea, fruit juice, lassi and float. And my research tells me that this cafe is well known for its home made foods especially homemade scone that is available in a few flavors such as strawberry scone.
Best Homemade Hash Brown
Arriving in starve, we ordered plain scone, strawberry scone, strawberry crepe, chicken pie and hashbrown, as we were told all are homemade. To my surprise and delight, we love their hash brown the most. Authentic, lovely and soft savory minced real potatoes was perfect. I almost asked for second serving!
Price wise, it is positioned reasonably so this restaurant is sort of welcoming all walks of life.
The scones also satisfied my better half, certainly amazing that my little one finished it completely.
Aside from the rustic charming Ye Olde Smoke House, almost every alternate eateries in this neighbourhood offer scone throughout the day. It is like the tourist’s staple food. Believe it or not, one can get it for breakfast, lunch or even dinner right here in Cameron Highlands. Enjoy!
