What a great feeling! We finally arrived in Brinchang, one of most popular townships in Cameron Highlands. Commercial areas of Brinchang town concentrates along the main road and another 2 parallel inner roads. Heavy traffic on the main road is expected especially on the school holiday or weekend.

Coming from Tringkap, the most significant landmark is Star Regency apartment, standing tall by the road side.

Slightly opposite, there is police station and fire station next to each other. Then, take a left turn after Hillville Rest House into an inner road and will see a row of four-storey shop houses includes a mini market, hotels, restaurants and coffee shops.

This stretch is also where Rainbow Hotel, Kowloon Hotel, Brinchang Hotel and Parkland Hotel are located.

Brinchang Central  Market is situated in-between Parkland Hotel and KFC. It offers souvenirs, clothings and handicraft items for you to take home. Beside it, there is a car park which is usually full, taken up by the hotel/restaurant patrons. If you wish to park, the advice is just wait and you can very lucky to catch someone that is about to leave.

On the other side of the main road, there is also a row of concrete shop houses made up of KFC restaurant at one end, a few steamboat or seafood restaurants in the middle and a couple of hotels on another end. Brinchang new town is just behind this row of shops and also where Rosa Passadena Hotel is located. Restaurants here is more modern looking and the latest choices like strawberry ice-cream or pancake are also made available.

Walking in Brinchang town is a good idea. Besides the cool weather, parking is a problem in Brinchang town, so forget about driving. Everywhere is within reach by foot. We personally prefer to walk at our own pace and leisure. This is also the best way to remember the town better. After all, going to Cameron Highlands is about relaxing and enjoying the cool air! I think we finish almost every corners in Brinchang in less than 2 hours.

If you are staying in Brinchang town and wish to kill time, take a walk to Cactus Valley or Big Red Strawberry Farm. It is just a 5 minutes away on foot from Star Regency Hotel/Apartment. Follow the signboard and they will help you to get there. See you in the next installment on Big Red Strawberry Farm as we spent more than a couple of hours there.

Stay tuned!
