Happy Diwali Reunion!

Telephone BoothThis is an article distributed via email. It is a sweet story with beautiful message!

An elderly man in Mumbai calls his son in New York and says,

‘I hate to ruin your day son, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are getting a divorce; 35 years of marriage… and that much misery is enough!’

‘Dad, what are you talking about?’ the son screams.

‘We can’t stand the sight of each other any longer,’ the old man says.

‘We’re sick of each other, and I’m sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Hong Kong and tell her!’

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone.

‘Like heck they’re getting divorced,’ she shouts, ‘I’ll take care of this.’

She calls Mumbai immediately, and screams at the old man,

‘You are not getting divorced. Don’t do a single thing until I get there. I’m calling my brother back, and we’ll both be there tomorrow. Until then , don’t do a thing, DO YOU HEAR??’ and she hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. ‘Okay’, he says, ‘It’s all set. They’re both coming for Deepavali (Diwali) and paying their own airfare!!’

The moral of story:
No man/woman is busy in this world all 365 days.
The sky is not going to fall down if you take few days of leave and meet your dear ones.
Office work and money making are not everything in life.

P/S: You may try the same practise at your own risk and consequences.

Virtual cake for Birthday Celebration?

Healthy folks nowadays do not fancy cake anymore for their birthday celebration. Somehow cake has taken a place in the list of food to abstain from especially among diet conscious folks. Perhaps, due to the association with cream that is fatty. Aha..then if you have a friend who does not fancy cake for birthday, what else can you do? Don’t you think birthday celebration without a cake is not that cool?

Then, why don’t grab the cake here (left image) and save in your personal computer. Open this image, and enlarge this virtual cake to fit the screen monitor.

On your buddy’s birthday at 12 o’clock midnight, turn off all the lights off. Bring your virtual cake (on the notebook screenLaughing), sing a loud birthday song to wake your birthday buddy up. Here you go the ‘healthy’ birthday cake! Make a wish and blow the candle. Right at the moment he/she blows, close the monitor panel and the room goes back to darkness…

Isn’t this idea cool? Simple at no cost yet thoughtful. Try it out and share with us the story! Cool.

Where am I going? Kuching or Bangkok?

AirAsiaFolks…have you ever got into a wrong bus? Or take a wrong train? Or perhaps, board on a wrong plane?

It was about boarding time but I was still busy browsing at the duty free shops at Penang Airport. I knew I would be the last few in a long queue. For AirAsia, a budget airline based in Malaysia, seating arrangement is based on the first come first serve basis. Nevertheless, thanks to the airline for the last minute changed of boarding gate from Gate 12A to Gate 14 which allowed me to be the first in the queue. After our boarding pass was checked, we had to walk down by staircase to an open landing area and climbing up another mobile staircase to get into the aircraft instead of an aerobridge assisting the walkway.

I was lucky to grab the front seats by the window, in fact the third row from the front exit door and right behind the cockpit. After all the passengers had got seated, I overheard a conversation between a ground crew and a cabin crew. The ground crew said, “Total is 62” but the cabin crew replied, “I counted, there are 63 here”. They exchanged a strange look in a slightly tensed air. Then, the cabin crew decided to recount again. At the same time, another cabin crew made an announcement stating that our flight would be going to Bangkok and landing at Suvarnabhumi airport. Nobody gave any signal indicating they were on the wrong flight. At the same time, two cabin crews were performing the counting again, one from front and another one started from behind. Both of them said the same “63” again! So they had no choice but to make an announcement that the air stewardess would perform boarding pass check. Everybody on the plane took out their boarding pass and very soon somewhere in the middle row near the emergency door, a man stood up. The cabin crew then led him to collect his belongings and walked him out from the aircraft. It seemed that the man was supposed to board FireFlyz to Kuching! Fireflyz is a twin propellers driven aircraft. Again, I got to know by eaves dropping the conversation among the cabin crews.

I guess, that was the fun of sitting in front, getting the first hand information and juicy news!!!LaughingLaughingLaughing.

It Happens For A Reason

Most of times, we easily irate over little things that happen in our daily life. So much so, we blame this little thing for the delay in achieving our goal. Or, perhaps getting upset unnecessarily over it.

Below article is a forwarded email that gives me more that a little thought. Reflecting on it makes me being more appreciative of our life, and definitely has enriched my spiritual collections. Every little thing happens for a reason…
