Love is the flower you've got to let grow ~ John Lennon
As the name indicates, Twins Style in Creative flower arrangement consists of a composition whereby floral material requires are in double or a pair. In this lesson, twins style is designed focusing on a pair violet Lilies (Genus: Lilium, Family: Liliaceae) and the ornamental plant - Sansevieria trifasciata or commonly known as mother-in-law's tongue. For this arrangement, flower color combination is played by different shades of similar color.

Concept of Twins Style: Same floral material in term of quantity are used but they are allowed to be arranged or composed of different height as long as it looks lovely and pleasant. Bridge or prop are encouraged to create the connectivity or togetherness in the twins style arrangement. For instance, a piece of long Umbrella Papyrus can be bent to connect both ends. Dried sticks or bamboo sticks also can used to replace mother-in-law's tongue. These tall standing bamboo stems can be tied with another piece (in the middle) to link both stems as shown above in Diagram 1 (left). At the same time, some prop can be hanged in accordance to the floral theme. While illustration on the right of Diagram 1 refers to a combination of twins style and garden style. A pair of flowers indicates the twins style while the wooden branches with a bird gives the mood of garden theme.
Tips for this arrangement: Compose from front view, and specifically at the middle point from both oasis spots which is called composition point.
Floral Material for Twins Style in this lesson: 1. Focal point/Primary Flower - Sansevieria trifasciata or commonly known as mother-in-law's tongue (4 pieces) and a pair violet Lilies. Lily here is also the primary flowers. Other options of primary flowers available includes Sunflowers, Daisies, Anthuriums especially flowers with huge petals and open buds. Carnations, Heliconias and Roses are not encouraged as the petals are smaller and their stems are long. 2. Secondary flowers. For this example, violet chrysanthemum pompons are leveraged on. 3. Leaves or foliages. Leather ferns and Gold-dust Dracaena are utilized here to cover the oasis. Podocarpus macrophyllus or better known as 'Buddhist pine' or 'fern pine' (luo han song) is also added to introduce variety. 4. Fillers can also be used, for instance white peacock. However, existing foliages are sufficient thus no filler is used here. 5. Connector or Bridge: Strongly encourage to fuse both ends of the arrangement. 6. Container shape: oval longish in shape, about 50 cm in length. Two cubes of oasis, sizing about 10 cm3 each are required.
From top left (clock wise): Buddhist pine, Mother-in-laws tongue, Lily, Chrysanthemum pompon
Getting started: 1. Place two cubes of oasis in the long container. They are separated by a distance about 15 cm. Insert two pieces of mother-in-law's tongues on each oasis. 2. At composition point, insert the primary flowers - Lily, placing low closed to oasis. If smaller petal flowers like Daisy, consider using two buds to complement the height of mother-in-law's tongue. Great arrangement will ensure the primary flowers are focusing on composition point.
 3. Next, move on to place leather ferns and Buddhist pine to cover the oasis and bringing sense of nature.
 4. Last but not least, insert the secondary flowers in various heights and widely spread to add charm in the arrangement.
 5. Here it is - flower arrangement of the twins style!
