The last flight of my longest journey (so far as of now) finally ended at Austin Bergstrom Airport about half past eleven, another 30 minutes to midnight! From end to end, the total traveling hours (included transit/waiting) we spent was about 30 hours. Phew!
As we walked into the arrival hall, all the shops and cafes were already closed. Solely depending on the sign board along dimly lighted alleys, we took an escalator down to collect our luggage at the designated carousel.
And what surprise me was the well put up mock guitars of various colors and designs positioning in a circular mode, sitting in the middle of the carousel. I have been reading a bit of Austin as 'The Live Music Capital of the World', but I have never expect the effort is coming so close and extended as soon as you get off the plane, right here waiting to greet you. What an awesome first impression of Austin!

The main terminal in Austin Bergstrom Airport is named after Barbara Jordan in honor of her contribution. In 1976, Jordan became the first African-American woman to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in New York and was ranked 5th in "Top 100 American Speeches of the 20th century" list!
In case you are wondering, this story was a rewind of what happened last weekend past over 2 days from Sunday before midnight until the next day early morning!
Thanks to JC for fetching us from the airport. And thank God that all our luggage managed to be squeezed into one car! We finally reached our 'new' home after a quarter past midnight. It was time to go to bed but my mind was still awake. In fact, my tummy was growling. My biological clock said it was lunch time! Holy cow! I got caught up with jet lag!

Yet, I still need to get some sleep. Tomorrow morning we had an appointment with MD at 10am and she would take us around to see the neighborhood and Austin downtown!
