Life is like a flower; it starts with a bud, blooms then fades Remember to cherish when it blooms ~ Shirley T
Twin Peaks was designed especially for my late grandmother in observance of the seventh day memorial service after her deceased. From earth we came and to earth we return. May her soul be blessed and rest in peace.
Ah Ma, Thank you for everything. You are always deeply missed by all loved ones!
Floral Material I picked carnation as primary flower as it denotes 'a love for a woman'. The color is violet which means capriciousness. Intense violet blends well with light pinkish chrysanthemums. Both white and yellow aster (white peacock or yellow peacock) are added as fillers while leather ferns are used as the foliage in this flower arrangement.
Design concept Inspired by nature or mountains specifically, Twin Peaks is originated from the concept of Twin Style. This design is purely using carnations as primary flowers to bring out the shape of twin peaks as sketch below in blue line when viewing from front. The red line in the sketch locates the carnations at the lower half in a triangle shape. The focal point is the blooming carnation at the apex of the triangle (red line).
Since I did not have any extra material, two stems from carnations stalks are used to accompany the right peak (the standing tall carnation on right hand side). If I do have other stems with some leaves, I may consider them to replace the plain carnation stems to add variety in the arrangement. Left peak is placed with two carnation buds instead.
Getting started: 1. Get a floral basket and a bowl to hold the oasis. Place the bowl into the basket.
 2. Compose this arrangement from front view. 3. Insert the leather ferns to cover the oasis. Place the ferns surrounding the oasis resembling shapes of a few overlapping stars.
 4. Then, move on to insert the violet carnation. Start with the tallest stalks or the highest peak in order to estimate or judge the size of this flower bouquet going to be. 5. Followed by second stalk, placing on the left of the highest peak. 6. Move on to insert the focal point which is the apex of the lower half triangle shape. Continue to insert the carnation at the lower half and make it them resemble a triangle shape. 7. Two most blooming carnations are placed facing front view to catch the attention of viewer. 8. Insert the carnation for the second peak on the right hand side, then followed by two stems of carnation besides it.
 9. Insert the light pink chrysanthemums in-between the primary flowers.
 10. Place the white and yellow aster as filler to beautify the floral arrangement. 11. Here it goes the final arrangement! Below illustrates the front view of Twin Peaks.
