If you have watched Rambo 4, there was a scene whereby Sylvester Stallone assisted a missionary group traveling along Salween River to Burma. This was what I imagined when we took a long tailed boat ride along Kwai Noi River. By the way, Rambo 4 shooting took place in and around Chiangmai Thailand, not here!

We boarded a boat from River Kwai Village Hotel pier for an upstream river cruise. The sky was a bit cloudy and the air was damp yet fresh surrounding in quiet nature. The river boat trip could take us until Sangklaburi and then reach Myanmar if we wish but we didn't. The breeze in the moving boat was so relaxing. Such breathtaking scenery along Kwai Noi! Greens were everywhere. Bamboo trees grew in abundance along the river banks. The water of Kwai Noi (Small River in Thai) was brownish compared to Kwai Yai (Big River in Thai) that was clear dark greenish. This is the simple way to differentiate Kwai Yai and Kwai Noi.

We came across two floating gazebos pulled by two speed boats. According to the local, party or discotheque or any private function/activities can be organized on these floating gazebos overnight along River Kwai. It seems that this is a popular activities among the local folks especially factory workers that usually come in large group. Some fees will be charged for the facilities.
