 Located by the river bank of Yangtze, Yichang was renowned as 'Gateway to the Three Gorges'. Historically, Yichang was known as Yiling, the famous battle site during the Three Kingdoms era.  Looking back at some of the pictures taken during our Yangtze or Chang Jiang River cruise last year, it reflects more than the beauty of nature. The journey was truly an extraordinary encounter that enriched my thoughts and life experience.  Growing up in Penang, we regard 'Wan Tan Mee' or dried egg noodle as one of our staple food. In the good old days, it is known as 'Tok Tok Mee'. My mom told me during her younger days the Wan Tan Mee sellers used to knock on their stall as a means to market this noodle and the sound created was 'Tok Tok'.  If you are a big fan of 'Bak Chang' (Rice Dumplings) and 'Or Kuih' (Yam Cake), Cintra Food Corner is definitely a perfect place for you. Located along Cintra Street, Cintra Food Corner is situated in the middle of a block of colonial building. We found it by chance when we parked our car along the one-way Cintra Street.  Motivated by disappointment of Spaghetti Bolognese served in a local chain restaurant (that also serves pizza), I decided to make my own tantalizing Spaghetti Bolognese at home last weekend. It has been ages since I cooked the last pasta. Nothing to fear and just do it, this is the motto I embraced to cook for my family a good Spaghetti Bolognese.
