Guess what? There is something new in town! Where? Located at the new commercial block of D'Piazza Mall in Bayan Baru, just a stone throw from the famous Sunshine Square, there is a cool place for coffee lovers. The name is Home's Cafe White Coffee.

Being a fan of coffee (though nowadays I am being refrained from drinking too much!), this spot was suggested for lunch by my Significant Other. He had visited this place with his colleagues a couple days before and as usual he is always excited to share with me any new and interesting eating spots. Sounds like we live to eat Laughing!

We arrived on a hot Sunday afternoon. As we approached the outside entrance, brown colored tables and chairs are set-up for patrons at smoking zone. We walked in and picked a comfortable corner of white marble table similar to traditional 'kopitiam' (a  local slang for coffee shop). A glance through from inside mall entrance
Menu arrived shortly and there are numerous choices of local delicacy such as Assam Laksa, Prawn Noodle, Curry Noodle and Ipoh Hor Fun. The more I discovered, it makes me feel Home's Cafe offers similar delights and beverages as Old Town Coffee. However, the plus point here are the choices are much more and the price stated is significantly lower than most Old Town Coffee outlets. Moreover, Home's Cafe does have fresh fruit juices, smoothies (yogurt), carbonated drinks besides the highlight of Home's Cafe Ice Blended in various flavors and conventional Home's brewed coffee and tea. Interesting, right?

Food wise, Home's Cafe menu offers numerous selection of local favorite like Nasi Lemak (Coconut Milk Rice), Tom Yam Noodle, Curry Chicken and Toast. Western delights consist of Chicken Chop, Fish & Chips and Sausages combo with mashed potato. They do also have finger food namely Yam Cake and Chipolato sausages apart from the must-have at any 'kopitiam' - variety of toast & eggs.

A bowl of Penangites all time favorite - Assam Laksa (RM5.90). We like this better than the same dish at Old Town Cafe.
Mouth watering Penang Assam Laksa
The famous Ipoh Hor Fun (RM5.90). It is a flat noodle cooked in plain broth with some chicken meat, prawns and garnished with fried garlic and plenty of chives.
Ipoh Hor Fun
Peanut Butter Thick Toast (RM2.80). Lots of chunky peanuts spreaded on top of the toast.
Chunky fresh peanut and peanut butter
From top left clock-wise: Curry Noodle, Dishes on table, Tom Yam, Cheese Toast
All kind of variety on table
"And the Yam Cake is worth trying", commented my Significant Other.
Yam Cake to share
I leave behind the address and map on how to get there. Worth a try especially now when the parking is still free.
