Weather has been extremely hot in Penang recently. So to escape into a cozy place, we picked Penang Times Square for lunch after our shooting trip in George Town last weekend. Firstly, this place has been heavily publicized as a hot spot for food galore.
Facade of White House - fresh air
Coming from KOMTAR, we noticed there are huge posters hugging the side wall of Birch House, there seems plenty of choices to pick from. However, some of these outlets we had tried before so we decided to bang on something new that day. The White House was what we picked. One does not have to travel to USA to visit White House. It is now coming to you as White House  Restaurant - that was where we dated for lunch on our first visit to Penang Times Square!

The left corner of White Coffee's facade is occupied with appealing shots of the food served. Hot and spicy Nyonya curry with prawns and 'Perut Ikan' are among that extreme temptation. I guess this trick work to attract more patrons like me whom went there when they were starving!
Wide array of choices in menu and drinks/cashier counter at ground floor
To our surprise, this place does have a mezzanine floor. Pretty interesting as it is unlike the usual restaurant of one level, the mezzanine floor does place nearly another 10 dining tables. What an innovation to make good use of space! Bravo!

I opted for East Coast Nasi Dagang (Traveler's rice) served with chicken curry. The curry appeared in red-orange color signifies plenty of chili and spices pounded. Coconut milk was also added giving the creamy taste. I like it! Simply perfect to be taken with unpolished rice and stripy prawn crackers.

While my Significant Other decided to go with Nissin Noodle (some said it is a high class instant noodles)  cooked in plain soup with sausage and green vegetables.

For the drinks, we tried White House Ice Blended Cappuccino - the shaved ice was fine and melted as it went into my mouth.
Ice blended cappuccino - good!
White House Coffee Brava - we reserved this for desserts. It was a two-scoop vanilla ice-cream with powdered chocolate toppings which had been a great relief to beat the hot weather.

For all the above we had, the bill printed is RM28.25. So you decide whether to give it a try?

Try Wan's curry mee in Itam. It's in the kopitiam which was formerly known as Lai Lai Itam, near the Itam roundabout.

The curry mee's cili paste really gives you a kick!
