Do you know what we did last summer? Below detailed exactly what we did in Ayutthaya, Bangkok, Damnoen Saduak and Kanchanaburi in 7 days and 6 nights.
Day 1: 2 July 2008 - Wednesday 17:45 - Arrive at Bangkok (BKK) - Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Mr Kong is waiting for us and transfers us to Wendy House, a backpacker hostel in Patumwan of Bangkok City Centre.
I booked Wendy House via online for the first night. The service is good and the room is clean, so we decide to stay for the rest of our trip. You may check out in tripadvisor.com for more comments.

14:00 - Arrive at Chinatown and very hungry. Shangrila Dimsum restaurant saves us. 15:00 - Walk back to Bo Bae pier and take canal boat to Saphan Hua Chang pier. 16:30 - Arrive at Pantip Plaza. Phew, at least a place with air-condition!

19:30 - Walk back to Wendy House. 20:30 - Go to MBK on foot to take a peep of night life in Bangkok. 22:00 - Tired and Zzzz... Day 3: 4 July 2008 - Friday 08:00 - Breakfast at Wendy 08:30 - Take a cab from Wendy House to Grand Palace, somehow the journey seems very long due to heavy traffic jam and miscommunication with the cab driver whom speak very little English. 09:30 - Eventually, arrive at Grand Palace. It is open daily including on public holidays. 12:00 - End the tour at Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha and move on to Wat Pho nearby. 12:30 - Arrive at Wat Pho (Temple of Reclining/Sleeping Buddha) despite of many touting interferences. 13:00 - Walk back to Saphan Fa pier and stop by at October 14 1973 Memorial site and passing by the Democracy Monument.

14:00 - Arrive at Saphan Fa pier and board a boat to Pratunam pier. 14:30 - Head to Pratunam Shopping Center for lunch at KFC. This complex is a bit quiet at some corners though. More shops available at alleys near the main entrance. Plenty of stalls in open area outside the complex. We do plenty of shopping from crockery to clothing here. Price is good for 'Zebra' brand of stainless steels crockery!
17:00 - Back to Wendy by boat. This time we are rather expert on how to capitalize the cheapest and fastest public transport. Take dinner at Pizza Restaurant near to Wendy House due to heavy rain.
20:00 - Mr Kong is waiting to take us to pick KL from airport. On the way, we take a look of night life in Khaosan Road. Lights, pubs, restaurants and people in a unique way. 22:00 - On the way back, we take duck noodles as supper. Rest and go to bed!

The pictures below illustrate the seafood counter and the ambiance in the restaurant courtesy of Seafood Market and Restaurant. Do you notice there are schools of fish swimming above us?
It is a pleasant experience to shop at the fish market inside the restaurant itself. We can pick what we love at 50 m length counter. The Thai food served was very delicious! I like the restaurant's tag line, it says "If it swims, we have it" - cool isn't?
21:30 - On the way back, stop by to Erawan Shrine, next to Grand Hyatt Hotel. Then, we manage to steal the view of night life in Bangkok's Red Light District - Pat Pong and Nana while Mr Kong is driving along these roads.
22:00 - Back to Wendy and go to bed! Another fun filling day!
Day 6: 7 July 2008 - Monday 08:30 - Odd arrives to take us to Ayutthaya. 10:25 - Arrive at Ayutthaya Historical Park. Visiting some temples and ruins, taking plenty of pictures especially at Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. 13:15 - Stop for lunch by river side in Ayutthaya. It is called Sombat ChaoPhraya Restaurant. I finally found the shot of the restaurant's name!
14:15 - Head to Dusit. 15:50 - Arrive at Dusit and take some time to locate Vimanmek Teak Mansion.
16:10 - Leave Dusit and head back to Bangkok - Wendy House. 18:30 - Meet PY at Siam Paragon for dinner. We have a nice Japanese cuisine at Fuji.

The road was so familiar as this was our fourth time in a week! 13:30 - Bidding farewell to Krungtheep and flying home!
