Inexpensive Steamboat in KL
Of red, white and black that made an elegant facade, 100 Degree C Steamboat, Teppanyaki & BBQ Restaurant is a unique restaurant that is conveniently located at Jalan Kuchai Lama/Old Klang Road or Salak South neighborhoods. If you’re looking for an affordable BBQ steamboat in KL, you’d not go far wrong to walk into 100 Degree Celsius that sits adjacent to Pappa Rich in Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park.
Featuring over 10 varieties of steamboat soup to choose and over 20 different types of sauces to dip, 100 Degree C Steamboat Restaurant attracts all of walks of life from family with children to intimate dining for two. The best of all, each diner is served with an individual pot, right in front of them. In addition convenient and hygiene, you can pick your choice of steamboat soup and have it all by yourself! And you get to control the heat/temperature as you like.
The list of their soup base includes Original (plain chicken soup), Tom Yum, Curry, Fish Head, Golden (Pumpkin) Porridge, Ma La (Taiwanese style hot & spicy soup), Vegetarian, Bak Kut Teh, Thai style hot & spicy, Herbal soup and Porridge alone. Due to unpopularity, Ma La, Thai style and Porridge soup base are discontinued at this branch we visited.
Besides the luxury of choice for the soup, there are plenty of value set for family or big crowd to share. Though it doesn’t serve a steamboat buffet, diners are given the options to add on vegetables, noodles or anything they have as you wish.
Eight of us arrived on early Saturday evening, thus we had the option for both tatami style and table dining. We ended up with a long table to avoid two cheeky pre-schoolers from running back and forth the neighboring tables. Opting for 100 degree Meat Combo Set, two large bamboo baskets arrived shortly with a selection of seafood, meats, mushrooms and vegetables, including prawns, mussels, boneless pork, mutton and chicken. To go great with cooked bite pieces, the dipping sauces from typical ketchup, tartar, chili, soy, Thai-style to the house-brand Hainanese-chili were readily available by self-service.
Satisfying, this steamboat in KL was good enough for us. Otherwise, we could opt for their BBQ and Teppanyaki, at which the dishes are cooked by their chefs while the diners can sit back and enjoy once the food are ready to serve. Price was reasonable, service was prompt and friendly but hygiene needs lots of improvement – hair was spotted in their soup and flies glued to their dipping sauces!! With God’s blessing, we’re okay the day after
