Tanjung Piandang or in short Tg Piandang is a small fishing town along the coastline of Perak. Constituting of fishing community, Tg Piandang obviously provides ample opportunity to taste the seafood fresh from the sea!

Considering this advantage, we decide to opt for our dinner here when we passed by Tg Piandang in the evening after our day trip to Kuala Gula. This town is on way heading back to Penang.

Without much clue, we picked the first decent restaurant that we fancied. The corner restaurant of our choice is Fish Village Seafood Restaurant, right at the junction where Jalan Piandang 10 meets the main road.

Since there were five of us, each of us picked one dish and by 7:15pm, all the dishes were ready for us. First to reach our dining table was stir-fried fish with ginger and leeks. We requested for this cooking style on purpose as it is a bit different compares to the commonly available fish preparation like steaming, deep-fried or stewing in curry gravy.

Being at a seafood restaurant, we didn't miss the classical preparation of prawn mantis. They were cooked with fried chili and plenty of shallots in dark soy sauce.

Next was a steam-boiled lotus roots soup with wolfberry and pork ribs.

As usual, my Significant Other would not miss his favorite dish - tofu. We picked their signature tofu. They were stuffed with eggs and some vegetables before deep-fried.

Last but not least, vegetable is a must to provide us some fiber. We called for a simple stir-fried Romaine lettuce.

We were lucky to arrive earlier otherwise we had to be waiting longer as the crowd was beginning to occupy the restaurant by 7pm.

Guess how much we paid for all the above dishes? Together with plain rice, fruit juice and a pot of Chinese tea cum chrysanthemum drinks, it cost 5 of us RM50.50. You judge whether it is worth or vice versa. I will definitely make a trip there again if I happen to be visiting the nearby area!

alphard, I do not see any 'Halal' sign at the restaurant. Besides, they do serve non-kosher meats as well.
