If you googled for Asian Market in Arlington last month and before, the official business website of Hong Kong Market Place provided you an old address at 1816 E. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76010 whereby it did not exist anymore. Judging from the former store condition, they could have moved for months. When I googled again yesterday, glad to see that they had updated the correct address on their store location page.
The old venue of HK Market Place at Arlington
Our last Christmas weekend was spent in Arlington and Dallas. As usual, we get help from our dedicated GPS. It took us to the former location and to our surprise, we arrived at an ample parking space overlooking at a run down one story building. The business signpost had been removed. Despite the wind chilled and snowing (a lovely white Christmas eve though!), my Significant Other offered to get off and checked out the grocery store. Thank God, they pasted a few hand-written messages to inform their customers that Hong Kong Market Place had moved to 2615 W. Pioneer Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX. We found out after all the troubles, battling with cold weather and chill wind.

Since the new location is just down the road, we headed west along Pioneer Parkway. This Asian grocery store can be spotted from road, after Texas State Hwy 360 and before Great South Parkway.
Interior of an Asian mall
A typical mall dominated by Asian business, besides the anchored store - Hong Kong Market Place, it also houses a few Asian (mainly Vietnamese) boutiques, saloon, music-CD shop and travel-tour office.
Maitreya Buddha nicknamed as 'Laughing Buddha
The store size isn't huge but amazingly, it carries all kinds of oriental products, huge array of imported goods, boasting a predominantly Vietnamese flavor. Large variety of vegetables, meat, seafood, snacks, noodles, spices and even Asian crockery. Price wise, most food is sold for less than what we are paying in Austin. A simple demand and supply curve putting the majority at the advantage.

Definitely an Asian market as the smell confirms so!
