Corpus Christi, or its Latin translation that means 'Body of Christ' is a port city in south Texas. Home to almost 300 thousands (census 2006) people, Corpus Christi is the fifth busiest port nationwide, serving mainly oil, chemicals and refinery cargoes.
USS Lexington floating museum, also known as The Blue Ghost
Exists in a comfortable bay area, Corpus Christi has wide access to the open water yet protected against wild sea tantrums by the thin Mustang and Padre Islands that stretch from north-east to south-west. The beautiful nature of this city attracts a huge number of inland Texans when they are searching for a beach gateaway!
The Watergarden fountains and behind is Harbor Bridge
Enjoying a subtropical climate, Corpus Christi is a popular destination especially from spring until fall. Various activities are lined up and await for visitors. Be it historical attractions, arts/cultural spots, aquarium, shopping malls or water recreational activities, Corpus Christi has it all under one city!

Corpus Christi Marina or fondly known as T-head by the locals
Docking piers
We were there last spring for a weekend retreat. It was a such a wonderful feeling to look upon the sea and horizon again, as if I had just gained my freedom! Refreshing and rejuvenating! How I wish I could just sit a day long at the bayfront, doing nothing but just contemplating the wonders of nature.
A spot for hands-on art
If you happen to visit Corpus Christi Downtown, do not miss the famous bayfront area or better known as Ocean Drive. This stretch of coastal road is scenic. Less than 10 miles, it lies from Bayfront Science Park on the far north-west through Cole Park on the south-east and ends near A & M University.
Bayfront of Corpus Christi from T-head
There are several worth stops for instance Bayfront Science Park - one stop location to catch up with the Art Museum of South Texas, the Museum of Science & History, Watergarden fountain and the spectacular sight of Harbor Bridge. A stone throw away, there is Corpus Christi Marina or fondly known as T-heads by the locals - a crowded waterfront with tonnes of private yachts, sailboats and seafood restaurants. Here is also the spot to catch the Harbor Ferry if you wish to steal the view of the city from sea perspective. Moving along the road, Art Center of Corpus Christi showcases the work of amateurs and professional artists, hand-made jeweleries and special exhibits. Next ahead is a long beach front and public access area to the sea.
Nina - the full size replica of Columbus ship
If you continue driving, it will take you further passing by small parks, beautiful mansions and the end is  Naval Air Station. Alternatively, take Ennis Joslin Road and enter into SH 358 then JFK Causeway. This leads to Mustang and Padre Islands. If you are looking to stay at this place you can try to do a Hotel Search
