Christmas is around the corner! It is the time of the year again that we get to do a shopping spree to buy presents for ourselves and our loved ones. Claimed as one of the most visited tourist attractions in Texas, I do agree that San Marcos Prime Outlet is a spectacular shopping mecca mainly owing to the open-air Gondola Park situated near Pottery Barn Outlet. Bridges were built across a man-made pond and kids can navigate a boat after paying a small fee. With a couple of cafes, the men can unwind (with children) while the wives indulge in their favorite activity - shopping! Personally, I love the stretch of windows design (picture below) which resembles a bit of ancient European architecture.
Geographically, the outlet sits along IH-35 south of Austin and north-east of San Antonio. Occupying a huge land with hundreds of brand, Prime Outlet at San Marcos is about 30 minutes drive from Austin or 45 minutes from San Antonio. The stores or shops are positioned in almost an oval shape with ample parking bay in the center. Comparatively to Round Rock's Premium Outlet, I think San Marcos Premium Outlet is perhaps 1 1/2 or almost double the size in term of land space. Most stores here are larger than the ones at Round Rock although some brands are carried at both outlets. Weekends is always busy so if you are planning to get there, go early while most parking spaces are vacant. Happy shopping for Christmas!
